The Wireless Firmware Engineer will be required to support product development via embedded firmware architecture design, development, integration, HW/SW bring up, troubleshooting and tuning the performance in the lab and field. You will be involved in all phases of the project and work with several engineers, contractors, vendors and cross functional partners to lead platform design and resource dimensioning, protocols and algorithms prototyping, and final development of production quality firmware for advanced communication systems. As a Wireless Firmware Engineer, you will be required to train and mentor others in the firmware and hardware operation, troubleshooting, and performance optimizations.

<ul><li>Develop code using the C programming language for embedded environments, with portability to various processors and platforms</li><li>Further existing protocol stack for 5G wireless networks, network management tools and processes that increase overall efficiency of networks</li><li>Work with internal teams and vendors to improve and tailor existing firmware, device drivers, stack and applications to project needs</li><li>Define and/or refine hardware requirements, participate in the development and delivery of operability-related features</li><li>Support certification and compliance efforts</li><li>Debug issues across the software stack including hardware functionality</li><li>Develop quick workarounds to time-critical issues and provide long term solutions</li><li>Evaluate product/software features and resolve related bugs</li></ul>

<ul><li>Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline</li><li>5+ years of experience working as C/C++ developer</li><li>5+ years of experience with developing, optimizing and maintaining embedded systems</li><li>5+ years of experience working on ARM CPUs</li><li>Familiarity with at least one RTOS environment</li><li>Working knowledge of wireless PHY and RF basics</li><li>Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and embedded Linux</li><li>Experience with simulations in MATLAB or ns-3</li><li>5+ years of experience and knowledge in one or more of wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, 5G LTE/NR</li></ul>
