Local Unit & Position Description

DNV's Operations Services Team is seeking a performance analyst whose primary function is to contribute to understanding and improving the performance of wind power plants. The ideal candidate will have strong data science / data analytics skills with the interest and ability to develop in new areas as our team expands our services and adapts to changing technology. This position may be based in any of our Renewables Advisory DNV North American offices

Tasks May Include

  • Manipulate and analyze wind turbine SCADA data and other sources of information pertaining to operational wind farms
  • Interpret data to provide customers with actionable solutions
  • Maintain, manipulate, and visualize large data sets with existing tools
  • Contribute to development of existing tools and creation of new tools and interfaces
  • Perform work independently and take ownership of tasks while also working as a team member: collaborate regularly with colleagues; provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with colleagues, customers, and/or other collaborators
  • Write proposals and technical reports
  • Written and verbal communication with customers to collect, interpret, and convey technical information
Position Qualifications

Requirements
  • Familiarity with wind turbine specific data sets and operational issues
  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing a similar role (graduate coursework or internship is considered)
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering, science or mathematics field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Aptitude in the statistical analysis of data, with proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or other statistical analysis software; Familiarity with Python programming is preferred
  • Familiarity with SQL or other database languages
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong English communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely in written, visual, and verbal formats; and
  • Proficiency with MS Office Word/Excel.

  • Experience with:
    • Data science
    • SCADA historians, e.g. PI
    • Power BI dashboards
    • Project management
    • Customer interactions
    • Applying machine learning to solve engineering problems
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically
