Location of position: Lincoln Nebraska State Office Building

Work schedule: 8 am to 5 pm; Monday to Friday
Examples of Work
The WIC IT Business System Analyst will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Administer, maintain and provide ongoing support for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) "Journey" system, working with program staff, contractors and IT staff to support Journey application which is used for program operations including enrollment, data management, benefit delivery, and financial management.
  • Serve as the Lead for the WIC Help Desk team while providing oversight and technical guidance to the WIC Help Desk Coordinator.
  • Resolve higher level problems from the WIC Help Desk.
  • Perform general/basic Database Management tasks such as import, export, and joining of tables and work with the program's designated/assigned Database Administrator for the daily operation of Journey. Troubleshoot and support WIC hardware used at local clinics, including printers, laptops, scanners, card readers.
  • Perform daily and monthly reporting tasks either via standard reporting tools and/or via ad-hoc queries (SQL Query and Microsoft Access).
  • Perform daily and monthly banking/financial reconciliations.
  • Perform system testing.
  • Administer and manage Journey user's accounts and credentials.
  • Analyze and document business processes, requirements, and strategies.
  • Provide technical assistance to state and local WIC staff on Journey related issues, develop training materials and training for state and local WIC staff.
  • Actively participate in system User Group and workgroup meetings.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications.

PREFERRED: BA/BS in computer science, business or related field. Previous help desk including working with program staff, contractors and IT staff to support third party software used for program operations including enrollment, data management, benefit delivery, and financial management; including installing and testing system updates, identifying and documenting system issues, identifying and documenting potential system changes; Using a data warehouse, Excel and Access to manage data; complete queries, complete data analysis and develop ad hoc reports; Managing the system testing process and conduct system testing; Hardware support for printers, laptops and other related equipment.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
