Description Position Title: Westover Honors Graduate AssistantSupervisor's Title & Department: Administrative Assistant for the Westover Honors CollegeSession: Academic (August 12, 2024 - May 16, 2025) This is a one-year placement with an opportunity for re-application and hire.Hourly Rate & Leadership Classification: $17.00/hourAverage hours per week: Up to 20 hours per weekJob Purpose: This position offers support for the day to day activities of the program. It is highly administrative based with an emphasis in creative computer skills and writing. Responsibilities:
  • Create Google Forms.
  • Create a web page of senior bios using Google Sites.
  • Create flyers/brochures/certificates using Canva to be displayed on digital displays.
  • Update sports rosters.
  • Add events to Moodle page and add large, crisp graphics and descriptions. Check relevant events regularly on to add daily.
  • Add attendance to thesis presentations. Update cultural events via google form.
  • Manage tasks on google docs daily.
  • Must be a self starter and flexible.
  • Assist with school and program related events.
  • Assist faculty in research projects; collecting and inputting data; responsibilities will vary based on the research needs at the time.
  • Typing and modification of documents using google suite.
  • Run on-campus and off-campus errands as needed.
  • Maintain master list.
  • Maintain an inventory of supply closet.
  • Must be available for 2-3 events during evening to assist with events.
  • Projects
  • Maintain packets for incoming students.
  • Updating student picture boards, we update this board in the Fall and in the Spring - involves removing pictures and adding new students.
  • Maintain Dean's list.
  • Assist Executive Board with event planning.
  • Sophomore dinner planning and preparing folders.
  • Jr Thesis meeting folders / paperwork.
  • Banquet program updates, using Publisher.
  • Must possess excellent creative writing skills. Will be researching subjects, proofreading several writing based projects.
  • Qualifications Qualifications:
  • Must be a current Graduate Student at University of Lynchburg.

  • Excellent English-language writing, oral, and reading comprehension skills for effective communication and relationship building on an individual basis and/or in small and large group settings.

  • Good mathematical and analysis skills.

  • Ability to work with a diverse population of students as well as across division lines of faculty, staff and students.
