About The Job
Join our Contherm team as a Welder, and use your technical skills to manufacture our Alfa Laval Contherm products are scraped-surface heat exchangers, designed for heating and cooling operations in the continuous and semi-continuous processing of a vast number of food, health, and beauty products. This position offers overtime pay and bonus potential of up to 5% annually.

Job Duties are:

  • Develops welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.

  • Collects equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements and plans layout and fit up procedures required.

  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using GTAW (TIG) or GMAW (MIG) processes and hand welding equipment.

  • Fabricates components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening and reassembling parts.

  • Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds. Documents actions by completing records.

  • Maintains safe work environment by following procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:
  • High School plus trades training and or on the job training (apprentice program or equivalent).

Type and Length of Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years manual GTAW and GMAW welding experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:
  • Minimum of 5 years manual GTAW and GMAW welding experience.
  • ASME and PED pressure vessel experience is highly desired.
  • Stainless steel and Nickel experience a plus.
  • Hand welding certification from a technical accredited establishment is a plus.
  • Experience with automated and or robotic welding a plus

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use):
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
