The Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing delivers and supports strategic and innovative communications and marketing technology across all of OEM to advance student recruitment, service, and success. The department collaborates with campus partners to actively influence strategy, practice, and innovation.

Job Summary

The Digital Communications Developer is a full-time position in the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing that supports online recruitment and communication initiatives for the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM), including the Offices of Admissions, First Year Experience Programs, Registrar, Scholarships, Student Financial Assistance, and Student Central. The Digital Communications Developer will work within various Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) tools, including Salesforce, to build, implement, and send marketing, transactional, and event related emails for units within OEM. In addition, will assist with web updates, paid digital, and other related digital communications strategies in support of OEM marketing initiatives.

Fundamental Responsibilities:

  • Translates design concepts into code to develop fully-responsive websites and web applications; focuses on front-end, user-facing web development.
  • Consults with website stakeholders and/or web administrator to review existing websites/webpages; develops new functionality and/or codes front-end web changes as needed.
  • Documents web application and/or web site changes and debugs undesirable and/or unexpected website behavior.
  • Tests websites and web applications across multiple browsers and devices for compatibility.
  • Collaborates with design, communication, developers, and/or other stakeholders to complete web development projects and achieve desired web development outcomes.
  • Adheres to university web development standards; researches and stays up-to-date on new industry web standards, emerging media technology, UX/UI design/philosophy, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred
  • Experience in front-end web development or related experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
