Summary:
The Applied Technology Laboratory for Advanced Surgery (ATLAS) program is seeking to hire a Visual Translation Specialist I to join their ATLAS Studios art and innovation team. In this role, the individual will create illustration, design, and animation work to support scientific research, patient education, medical training, marketing, and more. They will work directly with other medical illustrators, the art director, researchers, and physicians. They will research, plan, organize, and produce appropriate visual materials for each client's specific needs. "Clients" may be other members of ATLAS, the urology department, and Roswell Park scientists and physicians.

Starting salary for this position is $51,352 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in medical illustration or a related field from a recognized university-based medical illustration program; or
2. Associate's degree in medical illustration or a related field from a recognized university-based medical illustration program and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in medical and/or scientific illustration and/or editing.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have at least 1 year of work experience as a Medical Illustrator, be experienced in the process of CMI certification (have passed the written exam portion of certification, have not finished their portfolio portion) and have 2 years experience working in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. The will also have at least1 year experience working with Cinema 4D or ZBrush for 3D modeling and animating and experience with projects focused on urology or oncology (internships, freelance work, and schoolwork acceptable).
