Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally-ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year position in Studio Art at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning July 2024.

This position requires the ability, knowledge, and experience to teach beginning and advanced drawing processes/techniques, including Drawing I and Figure Drawing. The ideal candidate will be an artist and educator for whom drawing or painting serves as a major component of their artistic focus. Applicants should be practicing artists who are exhibiting their work nationally and/or internationally, and are committed to developing and maintaining an ongoing professional artistic career. They must hold an MFA degree in Fine Art and demonstrate strong teaching skills, with teaching experience in drawing at the college level required. Knowledge of art history and current issues in contemporary theory is expected.

Responsibilities include teaching five courses on all levels. Additional responsibilities include supervision and maintenance of the drawing studios and purchasing supplies. Faculty Development support is available to assist with pedagogical and artistic projects. In addition to teaching, visiting full-time faculty participate in ongoing curricular development and departmental meetings and events.
