Job OverviewThe Department of Anthropology at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a full- time anthropological archaeologist at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor whose research focuses on Mesoamerican archaeology and spatial analysis. This one-year position begins August 15, 2024, with potential for renewal. The Department of Anthropology consists of 11 full-time faculty who engage in interdisciplinary research focusing on social inequality, human adaptation and evolution, and socioenvironmental dynamics. Departmental resources include several laboratories and teaching collections. The University of Cincinnati has a newly established Faculty Enrichment Center committed to helping further the success of its faculty members. The position entails teaching archaeology courses, to include courses such as Introduction to Archaeology, Maya archaeology, Origins of Civilization, Identities and Material Culture, Spatial Archaeology, Archaeological Theory, and / or other courses related to the candidate's area of expertise.
