Today, Invenergy is advancing development in New York of opportunities on nearly every front of the renewable energy transition including utility scale onshore wind, solar and storage; transmission; community solar; and offshore wind.

Position Overview

Vice President, External Affairs - New York will support Invenergy's core business in New York state and advance the company's and individual projects interests by enhancing the overall reputation for excellence in execution and sustainable energy development expertise; develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholder audiences and partners, and raise visibility of Invenergy's diverse New York portfolio in the state and the energy industry.

Vice President, External Affairs - New York will set direction for and coordinate with internal and external teams that are responsible for key strategic functions including communications, public and government affairs, and development. Vice President, External Affairs - New York will work with these core business functions to create alignment among the key external affairs and stakeholder outreach functions in the organization and maintain collaborative working relationships among senior management and teams in their respective organizations. Vice President, External Affairs - New York will also expand the influence and reach of Invenergy's New York interests through engagement with partner organizations, trade associations, non-governmental organizations, the media, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior strategic advisor and lead on external/public affairs initiatives to Invenergy's New York leadership.
  • Raise Invenergy's profile in NY through traditional and social media, key stakeholder outreach and public events.
  • Strengthen and deepen Invenergy's connection to key stakeholder groups including political leaders, project partners and contractors, public and private organizations and partners and lead efforts to expand to new strategic audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with project development teams to develop and oversee fully integrated external affairs and communications program across all New York activities-including staff, contractors, communications channels, and programs and initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and disseminate messaging resources, project metrics, collateral materials, and digital assets to equip project team members, contractors,
  • Lead all communications and public affairs efforts around major project and company milestones.
  • Develop and execute proactive and reactive issues management strategies and serve as company spokesperson in New York.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be based in New York, preferably New York City.
  • 10 or more years career experience in communications and public affairs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
