Summary:

This leadership role is critical to the success in clinical outcomes in quality, performance improvement, patient safety and compliance with accreditation & licensure to ensure alignment with the mission, and pillars of the Memorial Healthcare System. Responsible for overseeing all quality improvement and driving quality results for the area of responsibility. Coordinates Medical Affairs Office operations and resources across MHS, working in collaboration with Hospital CMOs and medical affairs personnel. This role is considered a "hands on" position that is highly integrated into the operations of the healthcare system.

Responsibilities:

Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.Monitors and evaluates operations to ensure compliance with established professional, compliance, and organizational standards/requirements.Takes a leadership role in educating staff and physicians on key safety and quality issues. Acts as a resource as needed related to compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards. Oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide business processes, support the delivery of services, and ensure a culture of quality, safety, and satisfaction.Serves as a senior physician leader for healthcare system initiatives related to care coordination and clinical effectiveness.Serves as a senior physician leader for healthcare system initiatives related to, laboratory medicine, pharmacy and infection control.Assesses and reports quality indicator outcomes as appropriate to the facility and line of service. Designs education as needed to enable areas of responsibility to utilize and quality data.Coordinates Medical Affairs Office operations and resources across MHS, working in collaboration with Hospital CMOs and medical affairs personnel.Leads or participates in key quality and safety activities to ensure that all federal, state, NCQA, Joint Commission and payor requirements are met including but not limited to, such as Code 15 reviews, Root Cause Analyses, FMEA's, QI registries or other activities as appropriate.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The program director must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Work Experience: 10 years of experience in healthcare, including robust medical staff and physician leadership experience. Relevant experience with Physician direct reports is highly desirable.
