The Role

Maintenance electricians troubleshoot and repair welding equipment, radio equipment along with various other electrical equipment throughout shipyard/facility

Seeking candidates with the ability to perform troubleshooting/repairs on a variety of conventional machinery, cranes or automated/mechanized welding equipment. The selected individual will troubleshoot/repair electrical circuits and interpret schematics.

Other duties include rebuilding equipment, installing electronic controls, lighting maintenance and performing preventative maintenance.

Seeking candidates that also perform maintenance on portable and mobile radios, repeaters, radio frequency amps, tune, and program align combiners.

Candidates will also perform maintenance and repairs to Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinery, drives, PLC's, compressors, cranes and automated/mechanized welding equipment.

Possess advanced troubleshooting skills; interpret complex electrical/electronic schematics, and the ability to utilize advanced test equipment.

Up to $2000 Sign On Bonus based on experience

$2000- for qualified candidates with 4 or more years experience in Electrical Maintenance/Repair; or candidates with an Associates Degree/2 year certification in Electrical Technical School or the like, with experience in the Electrical Maintenance/Repair field

$500 for qualified candidates that have 1 year-up to 3yrs Electrical Maintenance/Repair experience

Current HII/NNS Employees are not eligible for bonus

Must Have

Individual must be able to lift minimum of 40 lbs and perform manual labor in an outdoor environment. Candidate must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by plant operations. This position requires the ability to understand oral and written instructions. Must be able to work ANY shift

Nice to Have

Significant plus would be highly skilled candidates able to perform maintenance and repairs to Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinery, drives, PLC's, compressors, cranes and automated/mechanized welding equipment. Possess advanced troubleshooting skills; interpret complex electrical/electronic schematics, and the ability to utilize advanced test equipment.

Maintenance electricians, welding equipment repair and radio repair technicians for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions with preference given to candidates able to work night shifts.

Trade school graduate preferred, but previous on-the-job training will be considered in lieu of electrical theory courses.

High school graduate or equivalent preferred
