Essential Function

The Universal Banker III is responsible for conducting financial transactions in an accurate, timely and professional manner. This role is also responsible for the sales and servicing of all credit union products and services, while focusing on building relationships and expanding Everwise Credit Union's wallet share. This is a leadership role within the Branch. Will travel between designated branches and provide support to multiple branch locations as needed.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

1. Proficiently performs the duties and responsibilities of Universal Banker I & II.

2. This position will perform a broad variety of member service functions with accuracy and in a timely manner. These functions will include but are not limited to advising on and opening Advanced Deposit Accounts such as IRAs, CDs, HSAs, as well as, Advanced Lending products such as, investment secured loans and home equity loans.

3. Responsible for complex problem solving by effectively asking open-ended questions using research, and consistent follow up to ensure member satisfaction.

4. Assumes leadership role by providing guidance to other team members, when necessary.

5. Establish, maintain, and deepen relationships with members, offering financial expertise with personalized service.

6. Will achieve and maintain individual goals in assigned categories, as set by Everwise Credit Union and branch management.

7. Will look for opportunities to assist in developing new business by providing warm leads to branch management.

8. Balance's member service, while assessing risk, minimizing risk of losses including cash differences and other controllable losses.

9. May be given individual lending authority. Will follow the credit union guidelines and use sound judgement when using lending authorities.

10. Participate in continuing education as assigned.

11. Complies with the credit union Check Cashing, Cash Control and Transaction Approval Limits policies.

12. Volunteers for Special Projects Within the Scope of Job Responsibilities.

13. Acts as a mentor for other team members as they progress through the Universal Training Program

14. Assume leadership role.

15. Assumes other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned for the efficient operation of the service center and for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union

16. Proactively follows up on existing and potential membership appointments, loan leads and promotes the credit union to grow the business through outbound calls.

Specific Skills

• Excellent human relation skills needed to interact with the membership in a professional environment including listening skills, and verbal/written communication.

• Ability to proactively problem solve by demonstrating concern and empathy while seeking a solution that is in the best interest of the member and Everwise Credit Union.

• High level of Everwise Credit Union product knowledge with a full understanding of needs-based selling.

• Proficient cash handling skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced diverse and universal environment.

• Ability to lift to 15 pounds at times due to coin bags and boxes of rolled coin.

• Proven experience opening and closing accounts such as share drafts, savings, CD's, IRA's, HSA's, while also following proper policies and procedures.

Accountability

• Accountable for exceptional member service, with solid knowledge of credit union products and processes.

• Proper documentation of loans and other services, while working alongside the Central Processing document process.

• Accountable for understanding and applying Everwise Credit Union policies and procedures relating to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA/AML, CIP and OFAC).

• Accountable for Performance Management Goals as agreed upon with Supervisor.

Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and Everwise Credit Union policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC

• Personal lending limits may vary according to experience and the quality of loan decisions.

• Accountable for promoting Service Expectation, quality member service, protection of the Credit Union's assets and a strong sales record.
