Overview
America's Service Line, LLC, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Transportation Safety Manager in beautiful Green Bay, Wisconsin. This position will report directly to our Safety and Compliance Director.

As a Transportation Safety Manager, you will:

  • Conduct accident prevention training and health and safety training.
  • Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions.
  • Monitor employee/contractor conformity to safety laws and policies.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures to further incidents.
  • Work with Operations management on accident/incident investigations, including upkeep and management of claims.
  • Assist handling worker's compensation claims.
  • Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues.
  • Effectively coach drivers, document, and escalate as needed.
  • Utilize safety management system, training, and award programs.
  • Work with all departments towards retention of all employees.
  • Be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations and record keeping concerning driver hours of service, driver fitness, etc.
  • Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
  • Lead the investigation of accidents, injuries, and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Create SOP's, policies, and safety standards in a direct partnership with maintenance, operations, and all departments.
  • Create and maintain KPI's that drive results.
  • Investigate telematic alerts and apply coaching/training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Knowledge in FMCSRs, risk management, and environmental health/safety management.
  • Knowledge of DOT, health, safety laws and guidelines.
  • Able to qualify as a DOT interstate driver including holding a valid medical certification and Class A CDL.
  • May require business travel and periods away from home, minimum 10%.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment.

  • Ability to provide detailed reports.
  • Ability to work as part of a and lead a team.
  • Ability to Prioritize tasks, especially when handling an accident or incident.
  • Resourceful.
