JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics Trainer is responsible for delivering training to front-line employees as well as assisting supervisors with the delivery of training. The trainer will be responsible for ensuring that SOPs are current and will ensure documentation is complete for CAP inspections.

The trainer is responsible reviewing service performance metrics and interacting with supervisors/managers to determine any new training needs.

The trainer will periodically ride with drivers to evaluate training effectiveness and provide feedback to managers/supervisors on employee performance.

It is most important for the incumbent in this position to possess strong training skills. Must also demonstrate the ability to learn and understand the skills and processes that will be taught. Internal candidates may be required to attend external classes related to training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
MAINTAINS CONFIDENTIALITY AT ALL TIMES. Will have access to overall employee and department performance. May have knowledge related to departmental performance that could be detrimental if released to the wrong environment.Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of all job duties and SOP's related to the Logistics Department during training session.Demonstrates and conveys a thorough understanding on how all the functions in Logistics work together during training session.Demonstrates and conveys a thorough understanding of how Logistics fits into the diagnostic testing process during training session.Demonstrate and convey an understanding of the compliance policies related to specimen transport and results delivery.Completes all required written documentation, legibly and within the assigned timeframe.Responsible for developing and maintaining written training documents.Maintains all training materials, and might be called upon to answer questions during an inspection.Responsible for providing Supervisor's with appropriate feedback when problems arise or issues are identified.Adheres to and applies all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures, including safety and compliance during training sessions.Called upon occasionally to attend meetings, and training sessions.Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Handles multiple tasks and works in a production environment.Excellent communication skills are required.Maintains composure while working with new trainees and experienced employees that are difficult to train.Reflects good judgment at all times when determining what action to take when resolving problems.Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits.Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills that fosters a positive environment.Exhibits flexibility and be able to adapt to changes in procedures and the training of those procedures quickly.Some travel required

Incumbent should possess the knowledge, skills and experience usually obtained by:
High School or equivalentTraining background or equivalent experienceThree years' experience in Logistics field Clinical laboratory logistics or equivalent experience preferredPC skills including a working knowledge of MS Office applications.Training certification preferred.GB or BB training/certification preferred
