This position will provide hands on learning experience for a role in Product Sustaining Engineering, which involves improvement of product performance, reducing cost and enhancement of the manufacturability of commercially released medical devices.

Job Functions:

  • Aid with manufacturing process changes, TMV activities, as well as possibly product development tasks.
  • Aid with tasks centered on validating production line, product development, and other tasks as requested.
  • Work closely with project team lead to carry out product development tasks including any of the following:
    • Creating concepts and designs using SolidWorks.
    • Prototyping design evaluations.
    • Writing test methods and procedures.
    • Fabricating simple tooling fixtures.
    • Evaluating designs and equipment.
  • Help build product prototypes in the research lab to support product testing.
  • Be involved with shorter-term projects that include but are not limited to product testing, lab maintenance, and engineering documentation including data analysis using Minitab.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze data and apply sound scientific principles to its interpretation.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to accomplish project goals with under direct supervision.
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge and adherence to Good Documentation Practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior or Senior enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Material Science Bachelor's degree program. Sophomore and other degrees are acceptable.
