Toolmaker Trainees needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN . We are looking for candidates that are committed to safety, team collaboration and enhancing their skillsets. You will have an opportunity to grow with an organization that is committed to employee development and engagement. Responsibility to electrically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC, PLC, and relay logic-controlled machines.
This is a 2-3-year competency-based Maintenance Technician Development program. This program has been developed to meet the needs for qualified Toolmaker Technicians in the Lafayette, IN facility, through on-the-job training and an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) study program. After entry into the program, the trainee will be required to accomplish mastery of all related machine tools, hand tools & shop floor assignments. The trainee will be assigned to a variety of training stations with specific learning activities throughout the facility that pertain to their skill path, and will rotate between first, second and third shifts as needed to complete learning requirements. Upon successful completion of the program, the trainee will be given the opportunity to become a level 6 Toolmaker Technician within Facilities Engineering.
The applicant must be willing to take a variety of written and hands-on assessments and complete required learning assignments with subject study and specific homework assignments on their own time. The applicant will also be required to work all shifts IE: first, second & third shifts, work at heights, climb ladders, work underground, and in confined spaces. They should be willing to work overtime, such as weekends, holidays and shutdowns and must not be colorblind. It is incumbent that the applicant takes the lead in his or her own learning by working within the ILP and the tradesmen.
Successful candidate will graduate the Maintenance Technician Development program to a 2nd or 3rd shift opening to be determined later.
