Description
**This is a temporary assignment expected to last 11 months from start date**

Location: Schramm Education Center/SRA 21502 West Highway 31 in Gretna, Nebraska
Examples of Work
Individuals will plan, coordinate, and present a wide variety of environmental/outdoor education programs to a range of audiences, which will include school groups as well as general public. These programs may include, but are not limited to: outdoor skills (shooting sports, fishing, etc.), wildlife biology (bird watching, insects, mammals, etc.), perform animal/reptile handling and critter care (snakes, turtles, and fish), kayaking, natural sciences (amateur astronomy, geology, paleontology), and cultural history. Assist with special events and customer service activities. Help maintain the educational center by using housekeeping techniques. Perform related work as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: One year of experience working in a recreational area, scenic attraction, hospitality, historical, retail, or customer service setting, or related coursework/training.

PREFERRED: Experience or education in outdoor activities describe above plus some teaching experience and/or experience developing educational/interpretive programs. Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of education principles and practices. Basic knowledge of and strong interest in outdoor activities described above. Possess the ability to present information to varied audiences and have excellent communication/teaching skills. Applicant must have a willingness to learn about the natural history of the area and a strong desire to share this knowledge with the general public.
