This is a temporary non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Position Summary

The multimedia specialist will work with the Educational Technology department to provide technical and administrative assistance, primarily in the evenings and on weekends to members of the College of Law community, focusing on audio-visual support for classes and events, web conferencing, and web enhanced learning and classroom instruction.

Essential Functions

The successful applicant for the position will have expertise in audiovisual systems, videoconferencing, and web-based applications. The individual is responsible for:

  • Providing audiovisual and media assistance to Denver Law faculty, staff, and students at Denver Law;
  • Supporting Graduate Tax faculty and Graduate Tax online students;
  • Coordinating classroom and event videoconferencing;
  • Scheduling lecture and event media capture;
  • Setting up and operating audiovisual equipment as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

The successful applicant will have a strong customer service orientation and well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Additional knowledge, skills and abilities include:

  • The ability to work in a team environment and to prioritize and manage work-flow
  • The ability to troubleshoot audio visual issues effectively and under time pressure
  • Knowledge of both PC and Macintosh platforms
  • A high level of experience with Microsoft Suite programs, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of lecture capture software, such as Panopto
  • Extensive knowledge of videoconferencing applications such as Zoom, and video editing software
  • Knowledge of video output technologies such as: HDMI, USB-C, display port, and VGA

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Flexibility of schedule and able to accommodate nights, and/or weekend shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work in an academic environment (supporting programs) and/or a law firm (supporting attorneys)

Work Hours

This position will typically work Monday-Thursday 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm every other weekend.

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $16-$18.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
