The University of Virginia, Cavalier Computer Store is seeking a Technology Operation Lead.

Position Summary:

Retail Operations employees are the faces and voices of our organization. They enthusiastically assist patrons in the store, on the phone, and via web communication. This representative provides a high level of customer service using interpersonal skills and product knowledge to meet the wants and needs of our guests. They support our operation by researching, purchasing, monitoring, and displaying inventory. This individual effectively, efficiently, and accurately performs product consultations and register based transactions with our customers. This employee performs well in a limited supervisory capacity, within a team atmosphere, and under pressure at times. They manage customer orders in a diligent and timely manner, with precision. This representative follows all store policy and procedure guidelines, specifically in the areas of store opening and closing, plus cash handling.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides effective sales and customer services support by developing and maintaining thorough up-to-date technical and functional knowledge of all inventory products.

  • Maintains knowledge of all store policies and procedures.

  • Performs the opening and closing of the store in compliance with established audit procedures.

  • Conversant with all aspects of procedures associated with special programs offered through Cavalier.

  • Investigates inventory discrepancies and makes adjustments as needed.

  • Provides support in the ordering processes for the store and seeks new and desirable products to stock.

  • Reviews web page to confirm products are available and adds new inventory for ordering

  • Takes ownership of assigned online web orders and manages progress from start to finish.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma.

Experience: At least three years of retail experience.


The selected candidate will be required to complete all necessary background checks.

Physical Demands:

This job consists primarily of stationary desk responsibilities with intermittent standing for various store needs such as customer service, inventory management, and employee assistance. Standing can range from infrequent to often. Periodically, you may have to lift up to 80lbs, assisting customers with products that have been purchased, both retrieving from stock and assisting to vehicles.
