Job Summary

Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-quality coatings for the architectural and industrial maintenance markets. We are currently looking for a Technical Specialist to join the Product Evaluation Lab (PEL).

In this role, you will be responsible for the application and laboratory testing of existing, new, and competitive products. The results and reports generated will aid in enhancing product performance and quality. This entry-level position requires a desire to learn, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate. The role offers many opportunities for growth and development into more technical roles.

The Technical Specialist job is an opportunity to join a team that gauges not only our own products but the competition as well. We are seeking a motivated individual who has a passion for analysis to assist in the making of world-class products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply coatings and related products and test physical properties
  • Document observations and results and share learnings
  • Maintain PEL and Test Farm databases
  • Manage several projects simultaneously
  • Assist in developing new or modified test methods
  • Maintain laboratory and equipment
  • Participate in learning and capability-building initiatives in Product Development
  • Professional development through continuous learning
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety and cleanliness guidelines


Desired Experience / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; technical/vocational schooling or community college is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Detail oriented with the ability to record accurate, clear, and concise results
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Meticulous, diligent, and dedicated with a solid work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
