Hunter Panels, a Carlisle Construction Materials brand, has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Representative to join our team in Portland, ME. The Technical Sales Representative will Provide technical support and educational opportunities to the Continuous Insulation and Commercial Roofing industries to help facilitate the sale of Polyisocyanurate insulation products and accessories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Correspond with Sales Representatives, Architects, Consultants, General Contractors, Owners and Customers via phone, email and in person to provide project and product technical support.
* Review project specifications, drawings and mock-up construction to assure appropriateness of product selection and use
* Assist customers and sales representatives in completing submittals, product substitution requests and similar support necessary to win sales on specific projects
* Work with other CCM departments to coordinate project support, technical marketing literature, educational presentations, QA/QC, and new product development
* Field product complaints, take necessary action, and help coordinate a resolution
* Travel with sales representatives and deliver educational presentations to Construction Professionals (Architects, Consultants, Contractors, General Contractors, Owners) to help drive product specification position
* Provide field and web-based training to the sales representatives, customers and participate in continuing education programs (e.g. RCI, CSI, etc.)
* Identify new business leads through specification review, competitive intelligence and the monitoring of construction project databases (e.g. McGraw-Hill, Bid Clerk, etc)
* Follow-up on new business leads and existing work in progress

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Technical: The candidate must be familiar with building science, commercial construction practices, building codes, material & test standards and construction documents.
* Communication: This candidate must be personable and presentable and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly on technical matters. This candidate must be very comfortable in writing letters, speaking on the phone to customers and co-workers, participating in jobsite meetings and delivering presentations in formal, semi-formal and informal settings. The content and delivery of this candidate's communication must convey competence.
* Organizational: The candidate shall have a proven track record of being able to prioritize time and resources to achieve goals.The candidate should also have experience of working within cross-functional teams.
* Self-Motivated: This is a salaried position where the employee is expected to work effectively without direct supervision. Candidate shall be self-motivated and shall have a proven track record of working well without direct supervision.
* Sales: The candidate shall have a proven track record in a technical sales or sales support role. As this candidate will have direct contact with customers and sales representatives, it is essential that he/she is able to promote the company's products and capabilities.
* Travel: Candidate shall be willing to travel overnight 25% of the time. This candidate will be entrusted with high-value company property, including a credit card, laptop and smart phone. Therefore, in addition to the usual background checks, this candidate may be subject to a credit check. Candidate must have good credit and must also have a valid driver's license.

Education & Experience Requirements:

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Field preferred or Minimum five years of experience in technical product sales or customer service
* Experience: Minimum five years of experience working in the construction product industry

Work Environment/Time Worked:

Work Environment:

* Office
* Traveling: Representing the company in front of design professionals, sales representatives, contractors and other customers
* Phone & email: No more than 24 hour response time to contractors, customers, co-workers and sales representatives.
* Passion for work and the ability to work overtime to meet demanding timelines

Time Worked:

* Hours Worked - 40+/Week
* Days of Week Worked - Monday - Friday; Weekends on occasion
* Shifts Worked - 8:00AM - 5:00PM
* Extended hours may occur as a result of travel
