Job Summary:

Leads team in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the company's tax policies and programs. Ensures the tax team is operating effectively and collaboratively and tax compliance and supporting work papers are prepared and maintained effectively. Manages the development of innovative tax approaches that promote organizational objectives and are aligned with global strategies. Provides oversight and direction regarding the assigned team, financial and operational activities.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC740, corporate compliance, accounting principles, and SEC rules and requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Corptax or OneSource Tax Provision software.
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion, and Alteryx is a plus but not required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be a team-player with excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise proper US GAAP accounting and external financial reporting for taxes on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Monitor and analyze income tax reserves in accordance with ASC 740, deferred tax assets and liabilities, global income tax payable account and global income tax provision.
  • Manage special projects, including analyzing data, planning, forecasting etc.
  • Monitor developing changes in tax laws and work with technical experts in regional teams to determine the appropriate tax accounting treatment.
  • Manage tax department activities to be in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and other controls of the company.
  • Research tax accounting issues and write technical memos documenting findings.
  • Manage and develop two subordinate staff.
  • Provide training programs for local and regional tax teams.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc tax matters as the need arises.

  • Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports.
  • Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment.
  • Collaborates with team(s), customers/ clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.
  • Decisions may have impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in serious delays and considerable expenditures of additional time, people and/or financial resources.

Work Experience:
  • Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience

Education and Certification(s):
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
