What you'll do

As a Talent Acquisition Team Leader and Partner supporting the Biopharmaceutical Business Unit, you will play a pivotal role in delivering on our positive impact to changing patients' lives. Talent Acquisition helps to deliver AstraZeneca's ambitious business strategy through recruiting best in class (internal and external) talent to meet the needs and demands of the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing Talent Acquisition strategies in partnership with the Human Resources Business Partners, Global Talent Acquisition Leads and Hiring Managers to identify and fill vacancies with passionate individuals with the right capability and skills in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Your role will involve proactive activity, developing and implementing sourcing plans, screening, interviewing, pre-selecting, offer management and leading the hiring administration process. Typical accountabilities will include:

  • Leading a team of Talent Acquisition partners and delivering on hiring needs (req load) for the business.
  • Managing Talent Acquisition delivery team across hubs or in country. People management responsibility for the team. Assess performance, holds regular 1:1 meetings, identifying and resolving any issues regarding Talent Acquisition delivery for the team.
  • Collaborate with the business on strategic workforce plan and achieving and exceeding strategic objectives. Ensuring data quality, driving a great candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Work with the HUB and Global Talent Acquisition leads to understand business priorities, reporting, projects and ad hoc requests to achieve/support business goals.
  • Mentor/coach direct reports and identify talent for development.
  • Demonstrate discernment to support the goals of the business, proactively innovate to achieve team and business goals.
  • Monitor KPI's, deliver reports, metrics and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Developing and managing recruitment services delivery, both personally and through vendors, against delivery of key Time, Cost and Quality targets and metrics
  • Developing strong partnerships with hiring managers and candidates, building a bench of people to meet both current and anticipated business needs
  • Ensuring assigned recruitment services are in compliance with Global Recruitment and country policies/guidelines
  • Proactively building and developing relationships with Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners and other colleagues - providing consultation, project management and service delivery
  • Ensuring 3rd party providers to required procurement and policy standards
  • Gathering and analyzing feedback from various sources for continuous improvement
  • Participating in all activities in the recruitment life cycle including; sourcing planning, screening, interviewing, pre-selecting, offer management, hiring and onboarding
  • Supporting the Global Talent Acquisition Lead with recruitment projects
  • Supporting and attending Conferences, College and Career Fairs - ensuring consistency in messaging and materials for recruitment branding and abilities targeting.
  • Educating business client in the use of Interviewing approach, recommend resources and techniques for interviewing, assessing and evaluating applicants
  • Implementing practices and contributes to new ways of working and lean methodology to ensure a great candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Appropriately challenging the recruitment process to ensure hiring activities have the appropriate priority and to select the top candidate considering a mix of skills, abilities, potential, and diversity.
  • Advising clients about recruitment responsibilities, legal requirements and appropriate candidate management techniques; providing resources and tools as needed to educate and enhance the skills of individuals involved in the hiring processes

Essential for the role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of relevant talent acquisition experience
  • Prior experience with the Pharma industry, specifically with Nationwide Sales Buildouts
  • Prior experience in delivering workforce planning, territory mapping, resource allocation for sales builds
  • Prior management experience is required
  • Demonstration of ability to influence and drive strategic value to the business and operational efficiency
  • Experienced in delivering full life cycle recruitment services
  • Experienced in identifying and securing passive candidates via various 'direct' channels - Social Media; LinkedIn etc., networking, market mapping, careers fairs, industry events, etc
  • Competent IT skills, including all Microsoft office, spreadsheets, databases, reports and able to produce meaningful management information.
  • Communication, presentation and project management skills
  • Stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Persuading, influencing, negotiating and consultation skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government regulations regarding employment topics

Desirable for the role
  • Broad understanding of Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry
  • Corporate recruiting experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry
