As a Tableau Server Engineer, you are responsible for the construction, maintenance and oversight of Tableau Server deployments within our Data Services environment. The primary role of a Tableau Engineer is to provide superior technical expertise within the Tableau Server ecosphere on site in our Columbia, MO offices.

Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:

• Work with Tableau Administrators and Senior Engineers to ensure high reliability and performance in our Tableau environment.
  
• Perform necessary upgrades and maintenance following industry best practices where applicable.
  
• Create documentation about Tableau server and store in a centralized repository.
  
• Identify performance concerns and resolve with logging and monitoring tools.
  
• Assist other teams within Technology through cross-training and/or administrative tools.
  
• Work with Tableau Administrators and Senior Engineers to ensure that support tickets are completed in a timely manner.
  
• Participate in on-call rotation where applicable.
  
• Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

• 1+ year(s) of Tableau Desktop experience.
  
• 2+ years of Windows, Linux, or other equivalent server administration experience.
  
• Experience with Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance in a highly virtualized environment.
  
• Experience with at least one scripting language, such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, etc.
  
• Familiarity with modern operating systems, server platforms, and virtualization technology.
  
• Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company.
  
• Regular and predictable attendance.
  
• Available to work outside normal business hours and/or on weekends on occasion.
