Overview

 

The Systems Engineer performs a wide range of highly technical and project management duties associated with the support of company networks and systems. This is a technical and professional position. It is distinguished by the requirement to demonstrate expertise in project management, network administration, implementation, security, maintenance of both network and end user equipment.

Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, layer 2 & layer 3 devices, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years related experience, CompTIA certifications of A+, Network+, Security + or higher, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of how to design, build, troubleshoot: Servers, Networks, Firewalls, Routers, Wireless devices, Micros POS Systems, Avigilon Camera System, VoIP and Avaya Phones, and end user devices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies; Active Directory, Server, Desktop, Apple Products and Microsoft 365 to include Teams, SharePoint, Exchange and Forms. Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot said technology and document any changes.
Responsibilities

 

  • Performs installations and maintenance of all network servers and switches to include all patches, firmware, and regular preventative maintenance.
  • Supports in accordance with best practice, high availability, reliability, performance, and accepted security standards.
  • Configures and defines parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), switches, routers, firewalls, servers, virtualization technology, D2D backup, and related network equipment.
  • Documents and keeps technical documentation current.
  • Handles and manages multiple projects and tasks.
  • Collaborates with engineers, system administrators, software developers, users, and management to select appropriate design solutions or to ensure the compatibility of system components.
  • Implements and supports Cedar Fair standards for system/network security.
  • Performs audits to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and secure environment.
  • Reviews Cedar Fair Information Technology quarterly audits and tests and review results with IT Manager and/or Director quarterly.
  • Evaluates current or emerging technologies.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Kings Dominion and Cedar Fair policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates a commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
