Responsibilities

Kforce has a client seeking a Systems Administrator in Ashburn, VA.Summary:This role performs analysis, acquisition, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of computer hardware, operating systems, and software utilities. The candidate must be capable of daily work in a physical lab located at the Ashburn Facility in Ashburn, VA. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about lab operations and working with both development and test teams to keep critical business functions available. Daily Responsibilities Include:

• Manage the deployment, upgrades, and maintenance of VMs, EC2, servers, hardware, software
• Provide system administration of hardware, operating systems, application software, and overall solutions
• Maintain server backup systems and monitor system performance
• Create and utilize procedures for installation, use, and solving problems for IT hardware and software

Skills

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and 3+ years related experience or equivalent experience
• Ability to type and fundamental knowledge of computer word processors, database, and spreadsheet applications
• Ability to learn and communicate in a team in English
• Hardware installation and knowledge of primary hardware types in use (Dell, HP)
• vSphere (ESXi), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Virtual Machines
• Working with Linux (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu) and Microsoft environments and competent in installing and setting up such environments
• Storage Arrays and network storage environments (specifically NetApp setups and maintenance)
• Strong knowledge in networks and configuration of network components
• Network firewalls. and F5 load balancers
• Administrative background in lab diagrams, asset management, inventory management, and lab upgrade documentation is a requirement
• General lab operations background (patching, cabling, rack installation)
• Knowledge of development and test tools
• Experience with Confluence, JIRA, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Oracle databases, JAVA, SPLUNK, scripting
• Must have good knowledge in lab operations to include hardware, hardware maintenance, network, network component maintenance, operating systems
• Knowledge in third party product layers such as AWS, Apache/Tomcat and related environments are a plus
