Position Profile

The System Engineer will participate in the full system development life cycle for internally developed applications and provide technical application support for various 3rd party applications. Must be able to perform analysis, troubleshooting and systems design while effectively communicating with others to determine requirements and solve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customer applications and reports.
  • Participates in the full life cycle of internally-developed applications (planning, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance).
  • Develops systems with an emphasis in high availability and low latency.
  • Writes and maintains custom scripts.
  • Creates or maintains appropriate maintenance and troubleshooting documentation for other IS staff.
  • Resolves problems by identifying the root-cause and identifying creative solutions.
  • Identify and optimize slow-running processes and bottlenecks to achieve high performance.
  • Identify and leverage new technologies, databases and other application infrastructure.
  • Vendor and Custom application support.
  • Tests and deploys vendor-created code patches and version upgrades.
  • Acts as technical liaison between vendor and other IS personnel.
  • Maintain version control for applications and databases.
  • Support back up, restore and disaster recovery for applications and databases.
  • Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional business experience related field, or equivalent work experience in the field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in programming within Microsoft solutions (e.g. Visual Basic, NET, ASP, Visual Studio).
  • 5 years of experience with the full software development life cycle.
  • 5 years of experience with analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant. amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • 5 years of experience working with SQL database technologies.
  • Experience with Object Oriented analysis, design methodologies and Share Point.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare setting (preferably in supporting patient care).
  • Experience in the Healthcare Industry (preferably in supporting patient care).
  • 3 years of experience working on reporting and ETL tools like SSIS, SSRS.
  • 3 years of experience with JavaScript libraries and API development.
  • 2 years of experience in maintenance and deployment of enterprise application and automation using CI/CD preferably Azure DevOps.
  • 2 years of experience on developing applications for cloud platform - Microsoft Azure.
