Survey/LiDAR Technician - Lenexa, KS

GBA's Mobile LiDAR Department is currently seeking a Mobile LiDAR Technician as an entry level or up to 2+/- years of experience to provide technical/production role in producing final deliverables to internal and external clientele. The type of deliverables we produce range from DOT, Stream/Storm/Sanitary, Energy and Municipality corridor design base maps. Internally we work closely with our Survey Department as we cross train staff to handle, in addition to the Mobile LiDAR traditional topographic, bathometric, easement, boundary, ALTA/NSPS and UAV surveys. We offer a variety of work and learning experiences from project to project.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize MicroStation and TopoDOT software on topographic surveys.
• Work closely with survey crew members and office staff to draft survey data.
• Work with group managers to meet schedule deadlines.
• Manipulate Point Cloud data for the extraction of survey features used in drafting.
• Creation of ground surfaces utilizing point cloud data and drafting software, to accurately depict existing field conditions.

Requirements

• Communicate with internal staff effectively to gather all information needed for processing the LiDAR data.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, Connect Edition is a plus.
• Experience in TopoDOT is a plus.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
• Detail-oriented.
• Able to work well in a team environment.
• Survey field experience a plus.
