Job Description

The Survey Analyst will assist the project managers in the management of survey project workflows. This role will be tasked will collating, processing, and presenting data, and able to run/lead projects of low to medium complexity. The role is responsible for the processing of relevant data (including error analyses and corrections).

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties that include being responsible for maintaining accurate and complete survey logs.
  • Perform quality control/assurance checks on collected data and future data for delivery to clients, recognizing opportunities for process improvement, recommending changes to existing workflows, and communicating needs to software developers.
  • Reviewing project requirements.
  • Reading and interpreting technical documents.
  • Writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Researching and compiling information required in preparation for field survey.
  • Coordinating with field crew supervisor and dispatcher for crew scheduling.
  • Post-processing raw data files from the field and reducing field notes.
  • Performing documented volume, area, or distance calculations.
  • Preparing CAD files with project-related information in preparation for Drafting to create deliverables.
  • Coordinating with CAD Supervisor for Drafting Scheduling.
  • Generating alignment sheets with automated software.
  • Updating project statuses and journal of project activities.
  • Preparing reports detailing project information or project status.
  • Review project deliverables (QC) before it being made ready for PM review and submittal.
  • Interacting with internal and external clients.
  • Assisting with miscellaneous duties required to upkeep drafting/data management department.

Job Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Possess an associate degree in surveying or related technical disciplines from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in surveying, military topography, or related fields.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Map 3D software, AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey software or relatable.
  • Be proficient with Trimble TGO or TBC software.
  • Be proficient with relational database operations and GIS.
  • Preferred experience with the operation of Blue Sky's Align DB sheet-generating software.
  • Able to assist the Project Manager in managing portions of a project with limited to no supervision.
  • Understands and practices sound surveying principles.
  • Understands the updating and retrieval process of information in a GIS
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office products. (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
  • Valid Driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
