About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a full-time hourly Support Services Specialist to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Bremerton, WA. This position is responsible for maintaining the continuous availability, execution and support of all payment channels, including but not limited to ACH operations, ATM fleet management, Visa card operations, wires operations, item processing and digital deposits management. The position also performs other credit union functions such as levies and garnishments, cash services, and works closely with vendors; regularly collaborates with branch operations and other internal departments to achieve member-service goals and expectations.

Pay Range: $22.36 - $33.54/hr depending on experience

Bonus Target: 5% potential bonus incentive of base pay

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

What you will do

  • Processing and posting of incoming and outgoing wires for consumer and business members, as well as other corporate wires for the credit union by established deadlines. Adheres to OFAC screening requirements and communicates with other financial institutions through FedWire when necessary.
  • Maintain check processing tasks, including returns, check repair, check adjustments and corrections, while adhering to rules and regulations such as Reg CC and the Uniform Commercial Code as applicable.
  • Performs daily balancing of all processes owned by Support Services, including but not limited to ACH, ATMs, Check Deposits, Federal Reserve Bank, Loomis, Visa DPS, Wires, and Zelle; works with Accounting on outstanding items on month-end General Ledger reconciliations.
  • Monitor for and process deposited items made via Remote Deposit Capture.
  • Administers Visa debit and credit cards for consumer and business members, which includes new card replacement card issuance, exceptions posting, travel notice placement, card stock monitoring. Provides assistance and guidance to front line staff concerning card status, maintenance, and understanding transaction approvals and declines.
  • Fulfills requests received from members via front line staff including but not limited to stop payments for ACH transactions, corporate checks and money orders, and recurring Visa transactions; adjustments and error corrections as warranted; research concerning ACH, cards, checks, and wires.
  • Coordinate all IRS CP2100/backup withholding tasks, including receipt and processing of yearly report, operations support, and management of outstanding account maintenance.
  • Responsible for peripheral tasks and processes that include dormant accounts escheatment, garnishments, CARS/BMS reporting, among other things.
  • Processing of physical branch teller transaction items, as well as items accepted at KCU ATMs, for the adherence to retention schedule requirements and for efficient research capability upon request.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two or more years of financial institution experience required
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of basic accounting, payments, industry, and regulatory requirements
  • Requires working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Understand, model, and represent KCU's core values

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience working in a back-office support capacity, such as ACH, Fedline, Visa, and/or ATM networks preferred
  • NACHA Accreditations and/or Certificates preferred
