Job Purpose

Responsible for the purchase and management of all transportation/logistics for Ring Container Technologies (multiple plant locations).

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Create short term and long term strategy for transportation needs.
• Manage all aspects of freight (carrier rates, customer pricing, concessions, and budgeting).
• Conduct freight analysis on all aspects.
• Manage Ring's TMS (Transportation Management System).
• Process all invoices and payment inquiries.
• Manage rate procurement process.
• Conduct vendor audits & scorecard / evaluations annually.
• Maintain cost records for analysis and reporting.
• Manage customs brokerage process.
• Handle railroad tracking/invoicing, insurance claims, and reporting.
• Negotiate trailer leases and process invoices.
• Arrange bulk trucking to support suppliers and plants, as needed.
• Handle miscellaneous and LTL (less than truck load) shipping, including international.
• Resolve freight issues through vendor relationship.
• Maintain carrier documentation.

Experience and Educational Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience with multi-plant responsibilities.
• Experience with transportation / logistics systems and negotiating with logistic companies.
• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Logistics, or relevant
• Understanding of freight processes required.
• Computer skills to include TMS, ERP, Excel, Word, etc.
