Business Purpose:
Supervise and lead bargaining unit employees within a safe environment in north side manufacturing operations, in order to achieve departmental and company goals.
Role Qualifications: (Required & Preferred)
Education:
Bachelor's degree (P)
Experience:
2 years' supervision, (P)
Areas of Knowledge:
Safety, CPR &first aid, AAP/EEO, lean manufacturing, 5S, labor relations, labor contract, discipline, SOP's, QCI's, ISO (P)
Skills:
Written and oral communications, organizational leadership, computer literate, interpersonal relationships (R)
Global Accountabilities for the Role:
- Safety/Environmental: continuous positive improvement to overall safety performance
- Quality: scrap and rework <=8% of fully absorbed costs
- Productivity: continuous positive improvement in inventory reduction, efficiency, utilization, throughput
- Cost/Stewardship: work within departmental budget
Specific Accountabilities for the Role:
1. Conduct daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
2. Ensure compliance to all safety, environmental, AAP & EEO rules, regulations, and laws
3. Ensure compliance to plant rules and monitor/document for consistency
4. Scheduling of personnel and equipment including determination and filling of needed overtime
5. Adhere to the collective bargaining agreement
6. Training--ensure employees are properly trained in safety, environmental, quality, and equipment operation
7. Meet production goals and improve productivity
8. Maintain operating supplies as needed
