Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
Continuous improvement projects such as:
- Safety & Ergonomics: Reduce physical strain by designing or modifying workstations, work methods, and tools to eliminate excessive exertion and awkward postures and to reduce repetitive motion.
- Utilize the 5S quality tool to systematically organize workplaces by eliminating waste, improving flow, and reducing the number of processes where possible.
- Minimize waste (shrink) in the production process through data analysis, hands-on investigations, Lean Manufacturing tools, SPC, etc.
- Method Studies on existing job processes to identify new or modified job processes that result in efficient and cost-effective operations by optimizing utilization of resources. Some of the methods of analysis might be process analysis, operation analysis, motion studies, time studies, work sampling, and flow analysis.
The qualified candidate will be a junior or senior in the fall of 2024 with a degree focus in Industrial Engineering.
