Job Summary:

Under close supervision, employee maintains orderly environment within assigned unit or area of facility by conducting standard operating procedures in accordance with facility policies/procedures and required Department of Corrections’ contractual obligations. Daily schedules are followed and employee serves as role model for residents.

 



Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates of group therapy and utilizes appropriate treatment modalities in group sessions;
  • Implement and assess individual treatment plans for residents;
  • Prepares and presents lectures as assigned;
  • Responsible for maintaining resident files and preparing necessary paperwork and documentation as required by the Department of Health, Department of Corrections, Corporation;
  • Reports all resident behavioral problem incidents in writing to supervisor and conducts appropriate crisis intervention;
  • Attend staff meetings and clinical supervision as scheduled;
  • When assigned, transports residents by company vehicle to out-of-facility appointments;
  • Provides input to the Clinical Supervisor as to the current and future therapeutic/resident needs and issues;
  • Responsible for maintaining or receiving the minimum credentials required by the Department of Health;
  • Responsible for meeting the goals and objectives of the individual training plan and completing the training requirements of the staff development plan;
  • Functions and serves as a team member with treatment staff, clinical supervisor and support staff;
  • Enforces the facility rules of conduct with the residents;
  • Other duties as assigned




Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field and 1 year clinical experience in a health or human service agency, or 
  • An Associate Degree form an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or related field and 2 years clinical experience in health or human service agency. 
  • Knowledge of the field of addictions or mental health counseling preferred.
  • Required skills include:  time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested by supervisor.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
