Waubonsee's Student Worker jobs help build your resume with real world experience and can be found on or off-campus. Hourly pay starts at $13.00/hour. Student positions cannot exceed 25 hours per week or be during scheduled class time. Most positions require a submitted FAFSA to determine eligibility. Consider a student position with Waubonsee!
Responsibilities include: demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing professional growth; greeting and welcoming all in-person visitors by providing prompt, courteous customer service and assistance; answering in-person, phone, and online inquiries; other duties as assigned.

Academic and Career Advising: Currently not Hiring.
Academic Support/Peer Mentors/Tutors: Peer Tutors/Mentors (Coach) help develop an enduring, trusting relationships with students and help them: 1) assist peers with course content area tutoring; and/or 2) with the transition from high school to college, 3) develop effective study strategies and life skills to implement within the classroom and outside of the classroom as students work toward individual academic and personal goals and 4) become more involved on campus by referring them to appropriate department workshop and/or campus resources.
Access Center for Disability Resources: Currently not Hiring.
Admissions: A FWS student in Admissions would assist with answering phones and checking in students either in the Admissions suite or at the second floor information desk, entering data into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, providing campus tours, and general office needs such as filing, making copies, and preparing mail packets. They will also assist with event preparation.

Finance: Assist with the needs of Waubonsee's Finance Department! The Finance Department manages several functions including public records management, student accounts and cashier, budget development, accounting and financial reporting, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and mailroom. Gain exposure to how these functions all work together. This position will be helping with general office needs including but not limited to organizing files, running reports, and entering transactions into the system.
Financial Aid: The Financial Aid Office is looking for students to help in a fast-paced office where students will be tasked with many responsibilities that could include the following: assisting students on the computer with filling out the FAFSA, locating missing documents in the student portal, checking students in that come in the office, helping answer phones, data entry projects, helping advisors with projects, and calling students. Students will gain experience in an office setting and strengthen their customer service skills.
Financial Education - Money Matters: Come join the team of Peer Finance Educators. Money Matters is the financial education program for WCC students. The program meets peer-to-peer with students to work on personal budgeting, credit scores, debt management, paying for college and more. Workdays can include promoting the program at tables around campus, presenting at events, presenting in classrooms, and consulting students. No finance experience necessary.
Human Resources (HR): Do you have a passion for helping people? Do you have strong communications skills, and value the ability to effectively engage employees? Do you want to grow your career in Human Resources? We have a great opportunity for you in Human Resources! You will assist our HR Department with employee engagement, recruitment and provide assistance to many HR-related activities.
Information Technology (IT): The student worker position in the Information Security area provides a real-life experience in safeguarding college's digital assets from the known and unknown threats. Student Life: Student Life is a fast-paced office where students will be tasked with many responsibilities that could include the following: follow up with participants, staffing events and promotional tables, maintain Student Life bulletin boards and easels, data entry, etc. Students will gain experience working for Student Life, gain research, social, and organization skills and learn about logistics to event planning.
Student Services and Alumni Relations: Currently not Hiring.
Student Success and Retention: Do you love helping others reach their goals? We are seeking a student to serve as our inaugural Student Success Ambassador! Responsibilities/expectations include the following:
- reach out to continuing Waubonsee students and connect them with services as appropriate (primarily phone outreach)
- co-present at virtual and in-person events to share the student perspective at retention and advising events
- document student interactions by updating outreach notes in advising platform
- assist with data entry and spreadsheet management for retention initiatives and division reporting
- provide virtual and in-person intake / support / reception for students seeking. Academic and Career Advising and/or Counseling services
- schedule student appointments for advisors and counselors
- provide in-person navigation support at the upper Student Center lobby desk
- participate in FERPA/confidentiality training and handle all aspects of role with utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications
Students should be enrolled in at least 1 credit hours of 100-level courses or acceptable developmental courses during fall/spring/summer semesters.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements; A student must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
