Aurora Eye Clinic - 2 Positions
For over 80 years, Aurora Eye Clinic has provided comprehensive eye care from eye examinations, cosmetic procedures, and treatment of eye infections and eye injuries to the evaluation and management of eye diseases such as macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. We offer a wide variety of treatments and procedures for all ages. We have six physicians in our practice specializing in glaucoma, retinal, pediatrics, and general ophthalmology. Aurora Eye Clinic is looking for someone who has an interest in the medical field. The student will be working with doctors, technicians, and front desk staff. Students will be engaging with patients daily and become familiar with the workings of an ophthalmology practice. Aurora Eye Clinic is looking for someone eager to learn, professional, motivated and can multitask. AEC is looking to hire one person for the technician duties and one person for the receptionist duties.

Technician Duties:
Escort patients to exam rooms and bring up their medical record.
Sanitize exam rooms.
Running the field of vision and OCT test machines.

Receptionist Duties:

Assist with organization and cleaning of the optical department.
Miscellaneous filing.
Other relevant duties as assigned.

Two Rivers Head Start Agency

Two Rivers Head Start Agency is a great opportunity for feature child care workers to get some experience. Even if you are not working towards an early childhood education degree, you will be given the opportunity to see the social service component of the program.

Responsibilities:
Helping out in the classrooms by supporting the teachers
Assist students with activities
Reading to children
Gathering materials for the teachers
Making copies

Fox Valley Special Recreation Association
The Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) was formed in 1976 and is an extension of the Batavia, Fox Valley, Geneva, Oswegoland, St. Charles, Sugar Grove Park Districts, and South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department. FVSRA supports and empowers individuals with disabilities of all ages by providing engaging, community-based, leisure, and recreational activities. Our programs, trips, and events include competitive and recreational athletics, aquatics, fitness, dance, art, social clubs, camps, and more. Through Inclusion services, we offer assistance to any individuals with a disability who registers for a Member Agency program with the goal of successful participation. The payrate for the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association starts at $15.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:
Implement adaptations that maximize the ability for individuals with disabilities to participate in all program activities. This can include but is not limited to:
Modeling and breaking down instructions for comprehension and understanding.
Modifying activities and using adaptive equipment to promote accessibility.
Facilitating and encouraging social interaction between individuals with and without disabilities.
Promoting positing behaviors through the use of coping skills, behavior plans, reinforcement of safety rules, and other positive behavior interventions.
Using augmentative and alternative communication devices, systems, strategies, and tools that replace or support natural speech.
Attending to the participant's personal care needs (toileting, changing, feeding) when deemed necessary by the Member Agency and FVSRA.
Mentoring and training Member Agency program staff on how to best support the individual with a disability in the program.

Assist with the overall implementation of the program's activities which may include obtaining equipment and supplies, setting/cleaning up program spaces, and interacting and supervising all program participants.
Demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and take initiative.
Maintain communication and quality customer services towards participants, parents, staff, general
public, emergency service personnel, and agency contacts as a representative of the Member Agency and FVSRA.
Arrive at the program site 15 minutes before scheduled activity to check in with the Member Agency staff and be prepared to stay after for clean-up and parent pick-up as deemed necessary.
Act as an advocate for participants by emphasizing the individual's abilities and similarities and promoting the least restrictive environment.
Abide by and enforce safety rules and improve employee and public knowledge of the same by confronting and correcting unsafe behavior and conditions.
Document and submit participant behavior report forms for significant negative behaviors that occur during inclusion programs.
Immediately communicate all accidents, unsafe conditions, problems or concerns to the Member Agency Staff and Inclusion Specialist or Inclusion Manager.
Cooperate and assist in the investigation of accidents or incidents.
Provide timely responses to phone calls, voicemails, and written materials, whether received by mail, facsimile, text, and e-mails, which are sent by FVSRA.
Attend all meetings, in-services, and trainings that are required by FVSRA or the member agency staff.
Record and report hours worked on a bi-weekly basis.
Attend all required safety training and in-service education meetings.
Solve moderately complex problems arising while supporting the inclusion placement.
Work efficiently and effectively under pressure such as emergencies and deadlines.
Perform other duties related to the Inclusion Companion when necessary, or duties in the best interest of the Association when requested by the Inclusion Specialist or Member Agency Staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Students should be enrolled in at least 1 credit hours of 100-level courses or acceptable developmental courses during fall/spring/summer semesters.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements; A student must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
