Job Description Summary:
The National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) is an accredited post-secondary educational institution training Medical Assistants (MAs) to effectively participate in high-functioning, team-based primary care settings. NIMAA provides students an effective and low-cost educational program that introduces them to the world of health, paves the way to a career in primary health care, and meets the workforce needs of primary care providers. NIMAA is part of the Weitzman Institute, the only research and education center within a Federally Qualified Health Center. Its mission is to promote effective, efficient and equitable primary care for vulnerable and underserved populations. It does this through research, training, consulting and education that reach all 50 states and U.S. territories.

Job Description:

The NIMAA Student Services and Recruitment Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a student recruitment strategy for NIMAA in Colorado. The Student Services and Recruitment Specialist represents NIMAA in Colorado's communities and with prospective students and employers therefore this position does require travel. Along with the Student Services Manager, the Student Services and Recruitment Specialist engages with prospective students and facilitates their completion of the admissions process, as well as job placement post-graduation. The Student Services and Recruitment Specialist will travel throughout Colorado and partner with NIMAA externship organizations to develop and implement community-based recruitment activities.

Th eStudent Services and Recruitment Specialist must exhibit excellent independent judgement, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to represent NIMAA consistent with state regulations and NIMAA's expectations for ethical behavior in recruitment strategies. Promotion of NIMAA at Colorado high schools and community health and job fairs; on-line presence of NIMAA program

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**Anticipated Start Date is June 2022. Travel is required.

  • Represent NIMAA in Colorado communities, with NIMAA externship organizations, and with prospective and current students and employers-
  • Develop NIMAA's alumni network so that alumni support recruitment efforts, including availability of alumni to speak with prospective students and are represented in recruitment collateral.
  • Coordinate with NIMAA communications team in the development of print, media and social media collateral.
  • Responsible for ensuring regular posts on NIMAA's Facebook, Twitter, and Linked-in pages to support student recruitment and placement.
  • Serve as an admissions representative for NIMAA, including
    • Connecting with students who have expressed interest in attending post-secondary school
    • Help Students understand and navigate through the admissions process
    • Ensure all necessary documents are collected and packaged in accordance to admissions requirements
  • Work individually and with other NIMAA team members to meet recruitment, retention and placement goals.
  • In conjunction with student services manager, develop relationships with prospective employers to facilitate student placement up on program completion
  • Utilize NIMAA's established student information system to maintain up to date records on recruitment and placement activities.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates Degree required.
  • Must demonstrate strong independent judgement and ethical decision making
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, self-directed and highly accountable
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including listening skills
  • Previous experience in a higher-education admissions representative, student advisor or other similar recruitment related experience
  • Experience in a service or sales related position preferred.
  • Experience in community health or primary health care preferred.
  • Experience with client management databases
  • Knowledge of medical assisting preferred
  • Very organized with the ability to handle a high volume of inquiries
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and Google suite of products.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Extensive day and overnight travel required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to set-up promotional booth and lift/carry promotional materials not exceeding 40 pounds.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • This position must interface with current and prospective students, community agencies and other team members.
