POSITION SUMMARY:

The Station Agent position ensures that all Amerijet customers are treated in a professional, courteous and timely manner whether being handled in person, over the phone or via email. Processes and records all shipping information for air freight services in the Amerijet Smart Kargo system respectively. Oversees the operations of the station to ensure shipment and accounting accuracy, reliability and overall quality of service.

Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Works in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides quotations, billing, tracking, and schedule information to customers as requested.
  • Reviews all information and documents and corrects any discrepancy.
  • Tracks all warehouse inventories, along with setting up local pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Enters warehouse receipts for all freight accepted for both air and ocean.
  • Ensures all POD entries are made timely and accurately.
  • Assists customers by processing documents, receiving payment, and depositing cash in the safe.
  • Reconciliation of daily revenue and back up to all accounting functions as required.
  • Correctly labels freight as required prior to shipping.
  • Scans freight for tracking purposes prior to loading trucks.
  • Ensures cleanliness of facility for both employees and customers.
  • Ensures the overall operation of the station is in compliance with Amerijet procedures and standards.
  • Off-loads and loads trucks with freight using a fork-lift.
  • Ensures that the work area is clean and void of hazards or safety issues throughout the station.
  • Performs daily/weekly/monthly/annual inventory as directed by management.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • A self-starter is required, must be able to work effectively with minimal to no supervision.
  • Administration skills and proficient computer skills are mandatory.
  • Min. 1 year of warehouse experience is preferred, prior Fork-lift driving experience is preferred.
  • Prior customer service and conflict resolution experience is a plus.
  • Prior airline/freight forwarding experience is preferred.
  • Identification of HAZMAT Materials and knowledge of proper handling (Preferably).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups' situations to customers, client and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to accomplish computerized transactions in PMI, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, UNIX, Lotus Notre and Internet Explorer.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet's insurance standards.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new team members.

Language Skills:

The employee must possess good interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions from managers and co-workers.

Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:

The employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Required to work in confined spaces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Must be able to work well under pressure. This position may require limited traveling.
