Overview:

The Area Manager of Stagecoach is responsible for all functions at the Stagecoach attraction. Through the development and

direction of Team Leaders and front line associates, the Area Manager ensures the department is meeting the operational goals

and standards for guest service and the safety of the guests, associates, and equine stock.


How You'll Make A Difference:

              Ensures the safety of our guests, associates, and equine stock by developing the Standard Operating Procedures for the

              Stagecoach attraction, Stagecoach Barn, and Livery Stable; directs associate actions during emergency situations;

              follows up with attraction rehab and maintenance reports to ensure that repairs are completed.

 

              Ensures the health and wellbeing of the equine stock by ensuring the daily care tasks have been completed; ensures the

              appropriate stock of bedding, feed, and medication are available; recognizes common horse aliments and administers first

              aid to horses, contacts a professional veterinarian for more complex health concerns; breaks and trains new colts.

 

              Prepares the schedules for the Stagecoach and Livery Stables attractions for the associates and equine stock with

              consideration for expected attendance, budgetary constrictions and associate availability; coordinates the use of the

              Stagecoach equipment, equine stock, and associates for special events including parades and film shoots communicates

              with an outside broker in regards to additions to the equine stock; ensures the appropriate number of horses available to

              meet the needs of the Stagecoach Attraction..

 

              Organizes, hires, develops and leads the Stagecoach staff; supervises direct reports daily work performance; provides

              coaching and counseling regarding performance and disciplinary situations, and provides credible input into discipline,

              promotion, demotion and termination decisions; prepares and conducts performance appraisals on an annual basis with

              each direct report.

 

              Ensures guest satisfaction by responding and resolving guest concerns quickly, coordinating guest control in both

              planned and unplanned situations, coordinating other departments' actions that can impact Stagecoach Operations, and

              making decisions that problem solve issues that arise in the daily operation.

 

              Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly department paperwork and reports, and takes action to implement appropriate

              corrective actions to resolve operational concerns and improve operational efficiencies; maintains accurate daily records

              and documentation for approximately 50 horses.

 

              Assists in preparing and administering annual department operating budget; makes overall adjustments (labor and ODC)

              throughout the year to meet department specific goals; and provide explainations for budget variances.

 

              Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO

              policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

 

              Other duties may be assigned.


We're Looking For:

This position requires the following education and experience, or an equivalent combination of both:

 

        Education                                                          Experience                                             Minimum Age

        Some College                                                    5 ‑ 7 Years Related Experience                   At Least 18 Years of Age

                                                                                Equine Care or Stagecoach

                                                                                Operations

 

 

    Qualifications:

 

    Must be free of equinophobia (fear of horses).

 

    Knowledge of Stagecoach operation and equine care is required.

 

    Ability to drive a four horse hitch.

 

    A minimum of 5 years expericience is required.

 

    Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

 

    Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per company policy, unless prohibitied by state or local law.

 

    Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,

    previous employment, educational and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by federal and state law.

 

    Ability to lead staff and work within the guidelines set forth by company policy.

 

    Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

 

    Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

 

    Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,

    previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial

    law.

 

    Certifications:

 

    Driver's License
