Position: Staff Software Engineer

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Participates in end to end design and implementation of a critical business initiative which will span multiple teams across organization. Partners with product management, project management, business and user experience teams. Participates in technical discovery for various initiatives in the portfolio, identify impact on the system, estimate level of efforts and extent of changes required for the implementation. Coordinate with downstream teams to help them understand the whole requirements so that they can implement more accurate solution. Perform System design review and provide guidance for optimization and improving efficiency of the overall system. Build relationships with key stakeholders of the project understand business requirements and recommend appropriate solution. Review project requirements and translate them into optimized technical solutions. Research other alternative solutions available and identify the one which will provide better return on investment and value add to the business. Perform root cause analysis of issues and failures to reduce future issues. Provide support to teams and others to quickly fix bugs and other issues. Devise an action plan at the time of issues and also help in execution. Improve overall software quality by demonstrating and encouraging software industry standards and principles. Design solutions to problematic programming for scale. Develop automation framework for application health checks to maintain high availability. Responsible for developing new adaptors and programs for applications using industry standard development tools and technologies. Monitor upcoming software technology trends and engage in POCs that can enable products for future business needs. Review and repair existing code. Follow Agile methodology and participate in standups. Engage in daily sync up meetings to track tasks performed by team members. Responsible for helping team members in completing their tasks. Develop and design features across multiple subsystems within applications. Responsible for POC, prototyping, designing, coding, testing, and deployment. Interact with customers as a technical expert for project subsystems.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 6 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience designing REST API web services and Microservices. Experience coding in Java and Scala. Experience with No SQL Databases including Cassandra and Cosmos DB. Experience designing and implementation of ETL and streaming pipeline using Spark in Scala and Java. Experience designing ETL job workflows in Airflow. Experience designing observability pattern in REST API and Data pipelines. Experience with system design and End to End architecture of the application. Experience with SQL. Experience with Python and Shell Scripting. Experience with implementation of observability patterns using Prometheus and Grafana. Experience with CICD using Jenkins. Experience working with Elasticsearch. Experience working with Kafka. Experience working with public cloud including GCP, AWS or Azure and private cloud including OneOps. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $150,762/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
