Job Description:

The Staff Accountant for Financial Accounting is responsible for providing accounting for Client . This includes analyzing, researching, and preparing financial information and reports to meet specific daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Records journal transactions associated with wholesale fuel gross margin in accordance with GAAP, i.e. inventory valuation, cost of sales, transportation, storage, & other associated fees.
• Performs account reconciliations.
• Ensures Client has an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
• Provides detailed monthly reporting to assist in business management and decision making.
• Analyzes and investigate variances during monthly flux both month over month and year over year.
• Assists in providing information for the annual audit.
• Continuous process improvement and documentation.
• Carries out ad hoc reports/assignments as needed.
• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal departments, i.e. front and middle offices, treasure and tax.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of department wide plans, goals, and deadlines.
• Carries out ad hoc reports/assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with a concentration in finance, accounting or related field of study
• 1-3 years accounting experience;
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP
• CPA is a plus
