Staff Accountant

What You will Do:

• Responsible for daily calculation of variable insurance product prices
•  Prepare monthly journal entries, assemble account reconciliations, and update financial models for various FBL companies
•  Prepare cash receipts, deposits, and related journal entries related to commissions and financial planning fees
•  Assist with the quarterly financial analysis and presentation of results
•  Assist with audits, both internal and external, by providing documentation.       

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance
•  Experience with insurance products or financial markets a plus
•  CPA designation (or working towards) preferred
•  Ability to work well independently as well as a collaborative member of the team
•  Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
•  Able to work from 9:45am until 6:30pm Monday - Friday. It may be necessary to work past 6:30pm on occasion.
