Staff Accountant

An essential role, the Staff Accountant assists the CFO and Controller in maintaining multiple corporations accounting functions and financial records, performing general bookkeeping, assisting with human resource functions, and general support for the accounting department in accordance with accepted accounting principles in the United States.

Responsibilities and functions:

  • Accounts payable
    1. Process daily invoices and maintain accounts payable email box for multiple companies
    2. Prepare weekly payments based on invoice due date for multiple companies
  • Accounts receivable
    1. Process monthly invoices for tenants
    2. Collect and maintain balances owed, ensuring all balances are kept up to date
  • Human Resources, including new hire paperwork, benefits administration, and assisting employees with questions relating to pay.
  • Property management, including assisting tenants with service requests. Monitor lease agreements and update as necessary
  • Monthly expense reports. Distribute reports and communicate deadlines to managers. Review, analyze, and journalize expenses.
  • Execution of 1099 Contractor payroll on a weekly basis and advance fulfillment periodically.
  • Assist with bi-weekly employee payroll.
  • Assist with closing activities, including bank reconciliations for subsidiaries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other internal reporting requirements.
  • Assist with tax filings, including IFTA, sales tax, property tax, and other state and local filings.
  • Support clients and vendors.

Education and Licenses:

  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree
    • CPA candidate or active license
  • Relevant and appreciated
      • Notary public

Experience:

  • 3-4 years general accounting and book keeping experience

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • 80% of employee group BCBS premiums paid by company

  • 6-month eligibility to 401-k buy in; matched to 4%, fully vested
