Position Summary:

Dexcom is a high-growth, fast-paced environment where you work with leading-edge, software teams in to ensure the security of modern diabetes medical device systems. We're seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Trainer to help in leading our internal and external training programs. You will work alongside highly skilled and passionate innovators who know how to deliver exceptional results while also having some fun along the way. In this work, you will help build an external training program to identify candidates, introduce them to the R&D organization through internships and oversee training. For this WAF Application Engineering role, you will be joining our Signals Management and Developer Security Operations team to manage and deploy WAF functionality.

As a member of the R&D Cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for the management and configuration of the security settings for a Web Application Firewall (WAF). Additionally, you will be responsible for working with Dexcom's Product Management team to ensure deployments are properly scheduled and released on time.

The ideal candidate is on who has previous experience working with a Web Application Firewall and integrating logs within a centralized SIEM. Additionally, and experience working as a part of a Development Operations (DevOps) team or the use of Infrastructure as Code scripts, such as Terraform to automate WAF deployments while not required would be preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set, maintain, and audit firewall security configurations.
  • Write, test, and deploy customer firewall rules.
  • Assist network engineers and software developers in troubleshooting end to end network issues for web services.
  • Create SIEM dashboards, alerts, and reports to monitor the security of network edge services.
  • Write SIEM queries and perform searches for Incident Response and troubleshooting activities.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert to the business owners for network security, assist in project planning, reporting, and resolving business challenge.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience working in a Security Operations Center.
  • 2+ years of experience using and configuring a SIEM dashboard for use in monitoring a Web Application Firewall (WAF).
  • 5+ years of experience deploying and configuring a WAF.
  • Knowledge of common of OWASP Top Ten Web Application and API vulnerabilities, and the ability to explain them to non-technical or non-security-oriented team members.
  • Experience working in a Cloud environment GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience troubleshooting common WAF deployment issues.
  • Background working in a complex network architecture, DNS, and CDN components.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a Google Cloud (GCP) environment.
  • Previous work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of Mutual Transport Layer Security architecture
  • Experience using a common scripting language (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Experience working with Infrastructure As Code such as Terraform.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Masters degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.
