Job Summary
The Senior Technical Writer - Investor Claims is a professional information communicator that oversees the management and creation of documentation requirements for the business units within the Investor Claims division. This includes, but is not limited to: defining, tracking, monitoring and creating processes and procedures. This role is responsible for producing detailed Process & Procedures, User Guides, Reference Guides, and Process flows; as well as developing and maintaining tracking matrix and adhering to agreed-upon project schedules.
The Investor Claims group oversees:
• Evictions and property preservation (pre- and post-sale)
• Title and Second Chance Auctions
• Filing of reimbursement claims from all payers (FHA, USDA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, MI)
• Loss Analysis

Job Responsibilities:

60% of time: Analyzes projects in order to calculate estimated project hours, project duration, and timelines. Leads and coaches business units on documentation principles, version control, and file structure/management. Facilitates working meetings to review technical specifications and receive direct feedback from end users. Develops internal and external business tools and materials including Process & Procedures, User Guides, Reference Guides, and client-facing documents.

20% of time: Becomes a subject matter expert in various aspects of the business by means of research and observation in order to facilitate effective documentation, procedures, user guides, and workflows.

10% of time: Research, develop and implement visual modeling including , Process/Work Flow Charts, Organizational Charts, and Activity Diagrams. Expertise in visual and publishing tools to ensure high quality delivery.

10% of time: Initiates and leads meetings with business leaders to establish process and documentation goals geared toward efficient and streamlined business practices. Tracking, monitoring and overseeing revision schedules. Reports to business leaders on project progress, upcoming prioritized documents, and goals reached.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of research, documentation and experience with information delivery via multiple mediums.
  • Mortgage Servicing experience preferred.
  • Experience with publishing tools, developmental editing and proofreading
  • Experience determining appropriate medium for messaging and adapting as required, as well as and development/creation of the material
  • Standardize content among platforms and toolsets
  • Oversee and monitor revision schedules and cross-functional impacts
  • Microsoft tools (Office, Outlook, Publisher)
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, ability to simplify the complex
  • Strong communication skills
  • Time management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
