Who are we looking for?

Our West Coast Team is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Design Organization . As a senior structural engineer, you will provide technical leadership and overview on several projects in the West Region. This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, be involved in exciting projects, provide technical solutions and mentor junior engineers. This position will be based out of our Eureka, CA office and work with our team members that are located across our several West Coast offices.

In this role, you will use your technical expertise to:

  • Perform design calculations and structural evaluations
  • Perform analysis and design retrofit of new and existing facilities
  • Prepare/edit designs recommended by Project Engineers and develop alternative design options to best suit the project needs
  • Provide mentorship to graduate and project level engineers
  • Prepare portions of project documents including drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Research code and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in construction project work which could include site inspections, review of shop drawings, and responding to contractor's questions
  • Collaborate in the preparation of proposals for new projects and clients
  • Assist in pursuing new project and client opportunities
The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills:
  • In depth knowledge of engineering codes and guidelines such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC, CBC, etc.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Knowledge of engineering design and analysis tools (i.e. SAP2000, SAFE, Risa3D, and MathCAD) as applicable
  • Highly developed communication skills and ability to work within a team and independently
  • Builds rapport with others; shows ability to influence with or without formal authority
  • Good judgment and decisiveness
  • Regular involvement in professional organizations highly desired
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering
  • 15+ years of previous structural experience
  • CA PE and CA SE license desired

Salary Range: $112,000-$169,000 based on experience
