The opening is on afternoon shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM). Shift differential is included.

The Sr. Quality Technician serves as the quality lead for all production personnel on their shift. The role directly supports and impacts production through specialized laboratory inspections, troubleshooting of production inspection equipment, and leading the containment and initial analysis of suspect product.

This position is responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
• Serves as the quality lead for production personnel on designated shift; is the go-to person for quality situations that arise that are beyond the operator's knowledge or ability to solve.
• Analyzes and problem solves for quality issues through the operation of specialized inspection equipment.
• Evaluates risk and makes decisions about product containment when non-conformances are discovered.
• Performs preliminary investigation when incidents occur and ensures that appropriate evidence is gathered while it is still available to enable root cause problem solving.
• Reads and interprets dimensioned drawings, instructions, and similar documents to determine if customer specifications and procedural requirements are being met.
• Trains production operators in quality subjects (part launch activities, process experiments and investigations) and ensures operators are trained in the proper use of production gages.
• Sets-up, operates, and troubleshoots all types of precision gages and inspection equipment used on production floor.
• Performs necessary inspections with specialized inspection equipment at plant (CMM, contracer, profilometer, etc.)
• Maintains systems for key quality management functions (e.g. gage calibration, document control, material disposition).
• Helps perform internal quality system and process audits; assists with and provides support with corrective actions and completing follow-up audits for verification.
• Helps perform manufacturing process studies and documents results in Excel or other designated software.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED with five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associate degree of quality or manufacutring technology with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED with seven years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Associate degree of quality or manufacutring technology with 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a quality role.

Physical Demands & Frequency Requirements:
  • Walking, stooping, and bending.
  • Time spent on manufacturing floor. Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Hearing at a conversational level.
  • Required to wear protective safety glasses, hearing protection where required and safety shoes where required.
  • Finger manuipulation, typing.
