The Senior Pricing Analyst is responsible for independently conducting quantitative analytics and modeling projects that support strategic and operational pricing decisions. This role will leverage pricing analytics across various reports and databases to recommend pricing structures and optimize margins.


Reporting Structure


The Senior Pricing Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Pricing Analytics as part of the Pricing Team. Strong performers will have a high level of independence. There are no direct reports reporting into this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic agility: has broad knowledge and is future oriented, with the aptitude to recognize strategic opportunities, anticipate consequences and trends accurately, and has the ability to articulate key findings effectively
  • Develops processes to analyze large transactional and economic data sets to support data-driven pricing decisions
  • Communicates conclusions from complex models (customer segmentation, risk, elasticity) to upper management team and various business units to optimize margin yields and pricing actions
  • Develops a clear understanding of industry trends, economic sectors, competitors and market dynamics and the ability to adapt priorities in response to a changing business environment.
  • Supports senior management and peers with on-demand analytics
  • Works with the IT department/business tools teams to aid in development of data pipelines, process flows, resolving technical issues and software configuration as they relate to Pricing Team
  • Manages and maintains models including but not limited to:
    • Benjamin Moore market demand forecasting
    • Industry demand forecasting
    • Price elasticity and cannibalization
    • Demographic demand
  • Potential to work on M&A with the Senior Pricing Manager


Required Skills

  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • 3+ years of business experience with demonstrated analytical and systems competency
  • Can work and thrive in an at times unstructured and ad hoc work environment
  • Ability to master and oversee complex tasks with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work under pressure at a fast pace and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to develop relationships within the Pricing Team and throughout the organization (sales, FP&A, marketing, product teams)
  • High competency in Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Skills and Characteristics

  • Strong technical skills: Data visualization tools (ie, Tableau, Qlik) and data querying tools (ie, Business Objects)
  • Solid grasp of micro and macro-economics concepts and familiarity with sensitivity analysis
  • Understanding of general accounting concepts and the three financial statements
  • Strong SAP, SAS, Eviews, Python or R knowledge preferred
  • Executive presence and the ability to interact well with senior management
  • Skilled at multi-tasking in a dynamic team environment
