Hypertherm is adding a Human Resources Generalist to support our manufacturing teams in Lebanon, New Hampshire. This role will partner closely with Associates, Leaders, and HR colleagues to collaboratively solve problems and enable each Associate to be their best selves and perform at their highest level. In a multi-dimensional role, as HR Generalist, you will act as an Associate champion, a partner to the business, a strong collaborator with the HR Centers of Excellence, and a change agent. As Senior HR Generalist, you will provide a wide range of HR support and advice to Leaders and Associates, offering guidance on organizational change, engagement, recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices. Coach leaders to enhance organizational performance, engage our workforce, and retain our talent. You will also be responsible for managing the human resources policies, procedures, and programs for assigned business groups. In this role, you will partner with a Business Unit General Manager, Directors, and Operations and Supply Chain leaders on all talent matters and work with them to deliver an Engaged and Inspired workforce.

Additional impacts of this role:

HR Program Deployment
  • Partners on client group Organization & Talent Strategy Action Plans with business leaders and their teams in accordance with an aligned process.
  • Leads or participates in specific HR operational initiatives and projects to advance our Vital Few annual operating plans.
  • Partner on the deployment of aligned HR Programs and Processes with leaders in assigned client groups.


Human Resources Advisory
  • Guide leaders and associates on talent initiatives recommending solutions, including performance improvement plans, standards for performance, exit strategies, competencies/ leadership behaviors, positive associate relations, corrective actions, affirmative action, compensation, and other activities through meetings, advisory committees, and other forums.
  • Provide advice and support on reorganizations, retention strategies, and other HR initiatives
  • Participate in talent management initiatives and assessment programs to ensure the client group's success and retention of talent.
  • Maintain and engage in programs and metrics that enhance our Leader's abilities to develop and retain top performers
  • Actively participate in recruitment activities for your client group, including participating on the interview team for any open leadership or key individual contributor roles and preparing fair, competitive offers with the Recruiter and Hiring Manager.
  • Resolve complex associate relations issues and conduct thorough, balanced, and fair investigations.


Relationships
  • Lead, support, and partner with the HR Center of Excellence functions in all organizational initiatives
  • Coach leaders to enhance organizational performance, engage our workforce, and retain our talent
  • Foster genuine relationships with Associates at all levels of the organization so as to understand associate thoughts and opinions and anticipate and react to their needs and concerns.


Innovation
  • Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies, programs, and initiatives to enhance overall business performance.
  • Stay current on talent trends to bring best practices to the organization and HR team.
  • Identify and drive the communication and sharing of learning across HR functions to facilitate continuous improvement.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in business, human resources or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience
  • Human Resource functional discipline experience, including talent management, succession planning, compensation practices, associate relations, inclusion & diversity, talent acquisition, performance management, strategic workforce planning, and employment law preferred.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with diverse client groups. Manufacturing and international experience are a plus.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of contemporary human resources principles, practices, and processes
  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws, statutes, regulations, policies, and directives about people matters, reducing legal risk, and ensuring compliance
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles, methods, and techniques
  • Skill in problem-solving analysis and resolution with the ability to quickly analyze and resolve associate issues
  • The ability to build trust and rapport, collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to communicate and provide feedback
  • High level of professionalism, personal integrity, and dependability
  • Must be flexible to work across our multishift organization to support all Associate schedules


Location: Hanover, New Hampshire. Hybrid onsite (3-4 days)/remote flexibility. Must be in a commutable distance to Hanover, New Hampshire. Relocation assistance is available.
